Saladin (Lary Saladin) is a Chicago based Electronic Music Producer /Remixer, who grew up to the sounds of 80’s House, Italo-Disco, New Wave, Prince and Guns N’ Roses. Early in his career, Lary was mentored by well-known producer, Marc “M.doc” Williams. M.doc is known for working with major labels and artists including: Madonna, Janet Jackson and for his film work through his company InDaSoul Entertainment. Early in his career, Lary also worked with electronic music Joshua Collins who was known for his Progressive House sounds that helped build a catalog for Strictly Hype Recordings, as well as other prestigious labels.
Lary started out on the music scene by writing lyrics and recording vocals for other producers until 2001, when he started booking live performances in Chicago and Las Vegas. In addition to performing in a Las Vegas talent showcase in 2003, Lary has shared the stage with legendary Hip-Hop recording artists, Rob Base & DJ E-Z Rock (“It Takes Two”) as well as House music vocalist, Jessica Eve (Who Da Funk – “Shiny Disco Balls”).
Lary’s sound ranges from hard-driven, dark Techno to Big Room anthem style Progressive and Electro, as well as Indie-dance using an 80’s synth-pop New wave sound. Lary credits his passion and musical pursuits to many musical influences including: Giorgio Moroder, Prince, Depeche Mode, Maceo Plex, New Order and Kavinsky to name a few. Lary likes to mix eras and genres in his production, but is also known for his modern, cutting edge sound as well.
Lary currently produces and remixes for record label across the globe. Recently he has signed some original production to WoNKed Records, owned and operated by DJ/Producers, Claire Wonk and Daniel Campioni.Lary also recently signed a track to S&S Records based out of Chicago, operated by 4-time Grammy Award nominee, Steve “Silk” Hurley and his partner DJ Skip. Lary is also always doing production and remixes for his own labels, KRUNCH and Phunk Junk Records. Keeping busy, Lary is making a major splash in the dance music scene worldwide.
Recently, Lary teamed up with an up and coming Chicago-based producer, Alex Corral (aka Nexus) to work on an anthem remix for, Eia, a pop vocalist from Brunei. The remix is already getting great attention from DJs and radio show hosts from across the globe and will be released on Lary’s label, Phunk Junk Records in January 2017. Lary is also currently working on a project with a well-known EDM vocalist/DJ, that will be announced shortly.
Lary has been blessed with the opportunity to play gigs all over his own city as well as other cities in the USA including his hometown Chicago along with Milwaukee, St. Louis and Indianapolis. He has been featured in online/print publications, including: 5 Magazine, Iconic Underground, The Chicago Insider, 312 Audio, Behind The Decks and Only The Beat. Lary also writes music business articles for his blog. Lary has also had mixes aired on Chicago FM radio including Electric Playground (1o1.fm WKQX and Dance Factory Radio (99.9 fm WCPT.) Along with multiple online radio mix shows.
Lary is currently crafting himself to become a pioneer in the modern dance music scene and create unique music. Going forward, Lary is working on a modernized/updated style infused with his old-school style background. He fully supports the independent dance music scene worldwide.
